This video was created to motivate the sales force after a giant merger. The leadership wanted to emphasize the benefits of the merger. After looking through several concepts we put together, the client landed on the option where we splash them in the face with buckets of paint.
We crafted interview questions and bought tarps and gallons of finger paint. After the one-day shoot during a leadership conference, we had less than a week to output the final product. I started cutting down interviews then timing the splashes for maximum impact while on the phone with our photographer discussing methods to jiggle, drizzle and flood paint onto our clients' products.
The concept came about as a result of a print concept I presented during a pitch to re-win our clients' business after the merger. Their eyes lit up to see dental files displayed like a work of art. Each color of paint represents one of the companies that came together for the merger.
We are now in the process of dividing these splashes into short social media clips to highlight products. As gorgeous as that paint looks as it cascades across tubes and syringes, it will never beat the grimaces we got from the leadership as they tried to clean paint out of their ear canals.
