The Story of People

Runzheimer helps their clients' fleets track mileage and expenses. Inspired by the Mastercard Priceless campaign, I strung together stock footage of drivers with an animation of an odometer counting through all of the things Runzheimer helps quantify.

We knew music would be very important for this video as it's such an integral part of the driving experience. After hearing the song Seventeen by Sjowgren on NPR All Songs Considered, I tried syncing the video to the song and it fit just right. Our account supervisor talked to the band and got limited rights to the song.

Six months after the video went live on the new website, Autotrader came out with an ad using the same song and similar animations. Typically B2B is known for being a few steps behind B2C advertising. In this case, I'd like to think it was the opposite.
